Chattanooga, Tenn. (Jan. 25, 2019) — A pair of personnel moves on the technology team at Covenant Transport Services is expected to bolster development and service of key products and programs at the transportation company, which leans increasingly on shared and proprietary technology solutions in today’s smart transportation climate.
Matt Mullins, a 23-year supply chain veteran, comes to Covenant Transport Services with experience working with and on software widely implemented across Covenant-owned companies today. Most recently, Mullins served as a senior director of application development at Trimble/TMW.
Mullins will play an important role in driving a “cloud-first, mobile-first development strategy,” said Eric Whitton, senior Vice President of technology at Covenant Transport Services.
Mullins has experience in both transportation and warehousing systems, and will be tasked with building out infrastructures to support the logistics and solutions needs for Covenant companies.
Additionally, Abby Griffith is moving into a new role as director of application delivery at Covenant Transport Services, and will serve on Mullins’ team.
Griffith has been with Covenant for 16 years, and has a track record of determination and driven success through stints in various areas of the business, including operations, sales, continuous improvement and now, in technology.
Griffith will “build and lead a team of experts on Covenant’s core systems,” said Whitton.
In her new role, Griffith will also oversee key relationships with technology vendors and work with telematics providers to find and create opportunities to improve and grow key business components, including mobile application technology.
