Chattanooga, Tenn. (Jan. 21, 2019) — Covenant Transport is a national top employer for diversity, according to business experts at Forbes.
The Chattanooga, Tenn.-based asset carrier and logistics provider is number 463 on Forbes’ second annual top 500 list of best employers for diversity, joining 10 other Tennessee-based companies.
Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to poll 50,000 American workers at companies with at least 1,000 employees for the list.
Covenant was also named one of Forbes’ best midsize employers in 2018.
Joey Hogan, president of Covenant Transport Services, said the rankings reflect ongoing efforts to create a positive company culture which emphasizes employee satisfaction and treating people right.
“Empathy, servanthood and virtue are our guiding principles, and treating our employees fairly – those working in the office and on the road in our trucks – has been a major focus of our management team for years now,” he said. “We’re honored to make this list, and we’re proud to have a role in making transportation a better industry for everyone.”
Currently, approximately 18 percent of professional drivers at Covenant are women, compared to around 8 percent nationwide as reported by Women in Trucking.
